Nampa

Nampa, Idaho is the second-largest city in the state and is located about 20 miles west of Boise. It’s part of the Treasure Valley and is known for its more affordable housing, strong agricultural roots, and growing suburban development. Nampa has a thriving local culture, with a revitalized downtown area featuring restaurants, breweries, shops, and a historic train depot. The city also hosts community events like the Snake River Stampede Rodeo, one of the top rodeos in the country. The cost of living in Nampa is generally lower than in Boise, Eagle, or Meridian, making it attractive to first-time homebuyers, families, and retirees looking for value. There are many newer subdivisions being built, as well as older established neighborhoods with larger lots. Outdoor lovers enjoy easy access to Lake Lowell, Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, and the Owyhee Mountains for hiking, fishing, and boating. Nampa also has a growing job market, with employers in manufacturing, education, agriculture, and healthcare. While it’s more suburban and spread out than Boise, Nampa continues to add amenities like shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment options, giving residents more local choices while still being within commuting distance to Boise.
